Affective commitment (attitudinal) is a reflection of the strength of belief in organizational goals, the shared sense of importance of organizational values, and a feeling of personal satisfaction derived from organizational involvement.
Tenure in the organization ranged from 1 to 37 years with a mean of nearly 16 years and a standard deviation of 8.5 years.

More recently, however, questions concerning the ethics and values of organizational communication have received more attention in the research literature (Seeger, 1997;  Cheney, 1999; Conrad, 1993).
