Option style - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A deep ITM currency option (FX option) where the strike currency has a lower interest rate than the currency to be received will often be exercised early because the time value sacrificed is less valuable than the expected depreciation of the received currency against the strike.
A cross option (or composite option) is an option on some underlying in one currency with a strike denominated in another currency.
A quanto option is a cross option in which the exchange rate is fixed at the outset of the trade.

 Option
This type of non-security option is known as a real option and is an increasingly influential tool in corporate finance.
Additional to the intrinsic value an option has a time value, which decreases, the closer the option is to its expiry date (also see Option time value).
European contracts are easier to value and therefore to price.

NOVA Online Trillion Dollar Bet Site Map
Options are usually sold in sets of 100 (which would allow you to buy or sell 100 shares of the underlying stock at a certain price for the duration of the option).
A stock option is a contract that gives you the right—but not the obligation—to buy or sell a stock at a pre-specified price (the exercise price) for a pre-specified time, that is, until the option "expires." If the option gives you the right to buy shares of a stock, it is a call option.
You can buy and sell options just like stocks; their value is determined by the likelihood that they will be "exercised" for a payoff ("in the money").

 WWWFinance - Option Contracts
For example, for an equity option, the underlying asset is the common stock.
Another point to note is that the modern valuation of exchange-traded options ignores margin requirements, transactions costs, and taxes because it focuses on market pricing relations that are enforced by the arbitrage activities of professional traders.
The price of a stock option, for example, depends on the price of the underlying stock and the price of a foreign currency option depends on the price of the underlying currency.

 Glossary
A "call" option allows the purchaser of the option to purchase the underlying asset at the exercise price if the option is exercised.
A "put" option allows the purchaser of the option to sell the underlying asset at the exercise price if the option is exercised.
For a call option, the intrinsic value is max (price of the underlying asset minus the exercise price of the call, 0).

Although options offically expire on the Saturday immediately following the third Friday of the expiration month, for most mortals, that means the option expires the third Friday, since your friendly neighborhood broker or internet trading company won't talk to you on Saturday.

 Black Scholes
The volatility of the price of the underlying asset is constant over the life of the option.
The paper was finally published by The Journal of Political Economy in 1973 with the title, "The Pricing of Options and Corporate Liabilities." It is said that members of the Chicago faculty had to put pressure on the journal to publish the paper.
The Delta then tells the owner of the option how many shares of the underlying stock he needs to buy or sell in order to ensure that his option payoff is guaranteed.

 Option Pricing
The problem is to price an at-the-money (ATM) European call option with a current asset price of $100.
The next figure shows Black-Scholes prices for a one-year maturity, European call option with a strike price of $100 with the assumptions that the continuously compounded interest rate is 6 per cent per annum and the standard deviation of the asset price is 0.20.
For an ATM option the exercise price is the same as the current price.

 Glossary of Terms

 Black-Scholes European Option Pricing
The piece is arguably one of the most important papers within finance theory to date and allows us to price various derivatives, including options on commodities, financial assets and even pricing of employee stock options.
Fischer Black and Myron Scholes are 2 economist, who in 1973 published a paper which redefined finance and derivatives, with "The Pricing of Options and Corporate Liabilities" featured in the Journal of Political Economy in May of that year.

 Option pricing by simulation
Any European option that only depends on the terminal value of the price of the underlying security can be valued.
Now, many exotic options are not simply functions of the terminal price of the underlying security, but depend on the evolution of the price from ``now'' till the terminal date of the option.
Now, an important simplifying feature of option pricing is the ``risk neutral result,'' which implies that we can treat the (suitably transformed) problem as the decision of a risk neutral decision maker, if we also modify the expected return of the underlying asset such that this earns the risk free rate.

 NATO Acad. Forum: Conferences.
Members of the PDS, the major party in the governing coalition, who now hold official positions in the Prodi government, favour a strong role for NATO in European security provided the European component of the Alliance is gradually strengthened and Russia's concerns are taken into account.
The major initiative was the trilateral agreement reached in October 1996, conceived by Italy as a sort of "hard-core" of broader forms of integration in Central-Eastern Europe which should prepare some of the countries in the area to become full members of Western European institutions, and serve as a "clearing house" for the left-outs.
To some extent, these options continue to exist together: the special link to the United States paralleled by a distinctive national policy toward Lybia and other countries (consistently with the traditional Italian policy in the area), and the construction of a true European common policy toward the region.
