The ministers will review on Wednesday a report by the monetary union committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states which meets 15 and 16 December in Doha, said Adnan al-Khudair of Kuwait's finance ministry on Saturday, quoted by the official KUNA news agency.
Gulf Arab finance ministers are expected to meet in Kuwait City soon to discuss progress made in the planned monetary union and in enforcing a customs union treaty.
The ministers will approve a mandatory anti-dumping law in an attempt to help implement the customs union, which aims to create a single customs zone with a uniform 5% customs duty on foreign imports.

However, it is hoped that the work of this first Council will demonstrate the importance of the Government's responsibilities in this area, and the need for close coordination among its lead agencies, and between the Government and the private sector.
The Council's mission is "to coordinate domestic and international intellectual property law enforcement among federal and foreign entities." The Council is required to "report annually on its coordination activities" to the President and to the Appropriations and Judiciary Committees of the House and Senate.

Criticism was especially strong in November 1949, after Paul Hoffman, head of the Economic Cooperation Administration (ECA), spoke to the Council of the European Economic Cooperation Association.
Addressing the representatives of the countries involved in the plan, Hoffman suggested creating a united West European market based on elimination of customs barriers and tariffs.
He was chosen because Congress thought that the ERP could best be run by people with business and financial experience.

It was developed under the auspices of the Customs Cooperation Council (CCC) in Brussels, Belgium and is based on the Customs Cooperation Council Nomenclature (CCCN), formerly known as the Brussels Tariff Nomenclature (BTN).
In June 1973, a Customs Cooperation Council (CCC) Study Group, after two years of deliberation, recommended the development of an international goods classification system.

The United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Council Cooperation (GCC) member stated have started as from yesterday, January 1st, working under a united customs tariff with the birth of the GCC customs federation which was ratified by the Doha summit in December.
He added that the united customs fees of the Gulf towards the outer world, approved by the GCC higher council will be at 5% on foreign goods.
The first stated to increase customs fees on goods and commodities imported from outside the customs federation of the GCC member states from 4% to 5% as from January 1st.

The Cooperation Council shall consist of the members of the Council of the European Union and members of the Commission of the European Communities, on the one hand, and of members of the Government of Ukraine, on the other.
